About the Role
Jackpot Tax Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Compliance Review Officer to join our team as an independent contractor. The Compliance Review Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that our tax preparation processes adhere to all relevant regulations and standards. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to set your own schedule and work remotely.
Responsibilities:
1. Compliance Oversight:
- Conduct thorough reviews of tax returns and related documentation to ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, communicating updates and ensuring implementation across the organization.
2. Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain a robust quality assurance program to identify and address any errors, discrepancies, or non-compliance issues.
- Collaborate with Tax Preparers to provide feedback and guidance on maintaining compliance.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of compliance reviews, findings, and corrective actions taken.
- Prepare regular reports for management on compliance status and areas for improvement.
4. Training and Education:
- Provide training and guidance to Tax Preparers on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and recommend improvements to enhance compliance processes.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance overall compliance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in compliance, quality assurance, or a similar role is a plus, but training will be provided.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations and due diligence requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
